Invitation to Agency Members for Citi-HKCSS Community Intern Program 2021

Citi-HKCSS Community Intern Program (CIP) aims at inspiring local business school students to contribute their knowledge and expertise to non-profit organizations through internship. The ultimate goal is to enhance their awareness on Corporate Social Responsibility so as to equip these future business leaders with a broadened understanding of the community. 

The business, social service and tertiary education sectors have exerted collaborative efforts to the success of the program, nurturing 770 interns and serving more than 250 non-profit organizations. This year marks the 11th year of the program and your participation is important to the success of the program. To equip placement organizations with better preparation on coping with special work arrangement, we would like to invite all agency members to join our webinar, “Work-from-home 2021: Tips to Work Remotely” cum NGO Briefing Session. 


Program Details

Internship Period


From July to August 2021 (Total: 160 hours)

Number of NGOs


40 agencies



80 full-time Year 1 to 3 undergraduates majoring in business studies, from 9 universities in Hong Kong. 2 interns will be placed in each organization.

Subsidy to NGOs


HK$3,000 for each organization (providing 2 internship positions), payment will be arranged by HKCSS at the end of the program.

Student Allowance


HK$6,000 for each intern 
(Payment will be arranged by HKCSS at the end of the program.)


Interns are recommended to assist NGOs in the following areas

  1. Network Building: assist in liaison work of volunteers and community activities as well as database management that helps to strengthen partnership between NGO and other sectors; or
  2. Brand Building: promote and extend publicity of the NGO  (e.g. production of promotional materials, video production, social media and liaison work etc.), that enhance public awareness of the organization in the community; or
  3. Fundraising: assist to organize or participate in fundraising activities for donor database expansion; or
  4. Support daily business routine including operation, promotion and social service.

*Priority will be given to NGOs wh
ich could provide learning opportunity related to the interns' business knowledge and relevant skills 

“Work-from-home 2021: Tips to Work Remotely” cum NGO Briefing Session

“Work-from-home” arrangement has been one of the main challenges to NGOs in the past year. In view of the current and future trends, we would like to invite you to our webinar on “Work-from-home 2021: Tips to Work Remotely”. Professionals from business corporates and NGOs participated in CIP 2020 will share their “work-from-home" experience with tips on managing daily business routines, providing guidance to student interns and available online tools.  Your participation is encouraged to learn about the best practices on preparing remote work in NGOs and the solutions when facing this new norm of work arrangement. The webinar will be followed by NGO Briefing Session of CIP 2021.
